For John is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James McGovern and Anna McGovern. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann McGovern; his children, Megan McGovern-Aquilante, Andrew McGovern and Kevin McGovern; and his siblings, Mary Loucks and Robert McGovern. He is also survived by four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
