He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Shields and Betty J. Shields; and his siblings, Ronald Shields and Joan Stolard. He is survived by: his wife Michele Shields; his brother Victor Shields; his sons, Reggie Barton and Derrick Shields; and his stepdaughter Tiffany Guthrie. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
