Pastor Willie Edward Lewis, Sr., affectionately known as 'Bay,' son of the late Albert Lewis Sr. and Rosie M. (Darling) Lewis, was born on May 25, 1946, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Pastor Willie E. Lewis, Sr., received his education through the Harrisburg School District. After completing high school, he graduated from Southern Baptist Seminary in 1988 and later advanced his biblical education by attending the Hampton Ministers' Conference in Hampton, Virginia.
He retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania after many years of dedicated service. A devoted servant of God, he was an avid Bible scholar who found great joy in reading, studying, and teaching the Word of God. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching game shows, listening to his favorite gospel quartet music, and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.
On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Pastor Willie E. Lewis, Sr., transitioned from labor to reward at eighty years of age while at Harrisburg Hospital. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Geneva Nichols, and his grandson, Jerron Lewis.
Pastor Willie E. Lewis, Sr., leaves unwavering love and cherished memories to his beloved wife, Reverend Joy D. Lewis; his sons, Wayne Cooley Sr. (Kim) and Willie E. Lewis, Jr.; his daughters, Reverend Tonette Jackson (Anthony), Yolonda Lewis, and Genay Landrau (Pedro); his niece/daughter, Stephonia Totton (Lance); his brothers, Thomas Lewis, Reverend Albert Lewis, Jr., (Kathy), Reverend Henry Lewis (Reverend Diane Lewis), and Ivol Walker (Sheila); his aunts, Naomi Harris and Charlene Scott; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his life, legacy, and unwavering faith.
