She was predeceased by: her husband John I. Townsend; her former husband William Jefferis; her parents, Victor Graefe and Gertrude Graefe; her siblings, Lois and Victor; and her stepsister Sandy.

She is survived by: her son John R. Townsend (Kim); her grandchildren, Courtney Brown (Sam) and Melissa Harvey (Andrew); her great grandchildren, Conner and Sophia Brown; and her stepbrother Gary Graefe.
