She was predeceased by: her husband John N. Lightner, Jr.; her parents, Joseph Kennedy and Christine Kennedy; her daughter Mary Beth Lute; her sister Elizabeth Irwin; and her brothers-in-law, Scott Irwin and George Lauber.
She is survived by: her children, Laurel Ann Backert (Gary) and John J. Lightner, Sr. (Carrie Ann); her grandchildren, Matthew Backert (Nicolette), John J. Lightner, Jr., Ryan Backert and Abigail Lightner; her sister Christine Kennedy; her son-in-law Michael A. Lute; and her sister-in-law Joan Lauber.
