He was predeceased by: his parents, John N. Lightner, and Anne Lightner, Sr.; and his daughter Mary Beth Lute. He is survived by: his wife Joanne F. Lightner; his daughter Laurel Ann Backert (Gary); his stepson John J. Lightner Sr. (Carrie Ann); his grandchildren, Matthew Backert, John J. Lightner Jr., Ryan Backert and Abigail Lightner; his sister Joan Lauber (George); his son-in-law Michael A. Lute; and his sister-in-law Christine Kennedy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials in John's memory may be made to Briar Bush Nature Center 1212 Edgehill Road, Abington PA 19001.
