He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Shappell and Helen Shappell (McNerney); and his siblings, Russell, Virginia, Robert, Harry, Danny and Julia.
He is survived by: his children, Fred Shappell Jr. (Becky) of Danville, Penny Wolf (Stephen) of Bridgewater, NJ and Richard Shappell (Joyce) of Chalfont, PA.; his grandchildren, Sean Shappell (Jessie), Blair Poole (James), Jessica Wolf, Madison Wolf, Hope Shappell and Hannah Shappell; and his great grandchildren, Ava Shappell, Adler Shappell, Elijah Poole and Theodore Poole. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Havertown United Methodist Church (200 Brookline Blvd, Havertown, PA 19083). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at the Valley Forge Memorial Gardens (352 S Gulph Rd, King of Prussia, PA 19406).
