He was predeceased by: his parents, James Elmer Thompson Jr. and Euphemia Montgomerie (Kirkland); his wife Kathryn "Ann" Thompson; and his son James K. "Jim" Thompson Jr.. He is survived by: his siblings, Robert Lawson Thompson (Lynne) and Mari-Elizabeth Campbell (Lonnie); his daughter-in-law Antoinette "Toni" Thompson; his daughter Beckey (Shawn); his grandson James K. "Jim" Thompson III; his son Bruce Andrew Thompson; and his grandchildren, Bruce Jr. and Carly. He is also survived by sons, daughters-in-law, partner, and grandchildren.
