He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Wayne Mertz (Susan) and Cheryl Ryan (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Amanda Solensky (Greg), Emily Mertz, Josie Mertz, Kyle Whalen and Kevin Whalen; and his great grandchild Clara Solensky.
