He is survived by: his children, Chloe Birtel of Hawley, Sophia Birtel (Lorenzo) of Blakely and Liam Birtel of Scranton; and his siblings, Martha Foy (Pete) of Alburg, VT, Linda Birtel of Royersford, PA, Patricia Steimling Houtman (Leon) of Tafton, Mark Birtel (Debbie) of Jefferson Township, Eric Birtel of Phoenix, AZ and Amy Birtel Smith (Jason) of Middleburg, VA.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
