He is survived by: his children, Kathy Shaffer of Hermitage, PA. and James "Butch" Shaffer III of Sharon, PA.; his grandchildren, Thomas, Tina, April, Mark and Allen; his great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Colton and Reece; his great great grandchild Kendra; his sisters, Norma Varro and Ledora Link; his grandson James; and his great grandchildren, Tanya and Jason.
