He was predeceased by: his parents, Addison Wayne and Kathryn King Dixon; his grandparents, Hillborn Newell Dixon, Cornie Elizabeth McWilliams, Heyward Granville King and Erma Lewis; and his brother Roger Wayne Dixon.

He is survived by: his wife Maryanne Pattison Horan Dixon; his children, Aaron Richard Dixon (Erin), Daniel John Dixon (Pamela) and Jessica Wendy Sarros; his stepsons, Andrew Michael Horan (Michelle), Timothy Peter Horan (Margaret) and Patrick Daniel Horan; his grandchildren, Annabelle Johann Dixon, Claira June Dixon, Owen Avery Dixon, Ian Elliot Dixon, Clayton Daniel Dixon, Rosemary Lynn Altman, Peter Joshua Horan, Finnegan John Horan, Gabriel Thomas Horan, Emma Rose Nieves, Brody Nicholas Horan and Jameson Daniel Horan; his sister Marilyn Kay Dixon Totten (James); his nephew Stephen Michael Totten; and his pets, Sonic and Sadie. He is also survived by his children and stepchildren.

“I have been looking for Richard for many years wanting to get him to come to a class reunion. I’m so sad to hear of his passing. I will always remember him leading the band into football games. We also rehearsed together when he landed the lead in “Superman.” I took voice lessons from his father, Addison. I would have loved to walk down memory lane with him, one more time. I will let the class of ‘69 know. I’m so sorry for your loss.”
