He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Shaffer and Mary Adelaide "Fink" Shaffer; his daughter Patti Jo Shaffer; his parents-in-law, Robert and Doris Shunk; and his siblings-in-law, Fred Smith, Beth Shunk, Betty Shaffer and Dorothy Shaffer.
He is survived by: his wife Linda "Shunk" Shaffer; his son Jeffrey Carl Shaffer Shaffer (Janet Marie (Gray)) of Smithfield; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Frank Shunk of Mechanicsburg and Sonia Getic (George) of Huntingdon. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
