With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elsie Barthels of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 30, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Allen G. Forsythe and Mabel King Forsythe; her husband Lewis "Bud" Barthels; her daughter-in-law Kristy Hickman Barthels; and her brothers, Wilson and Kenneth Forsythe.

She is survived by: her children, L. Blair Barthels (Tammy Jones), Nancy Rupert (Kirg), Chris Barthels and Dan Barthels (Christine Tutena); her grandchildren, Frank Urick (Steph), Lacee Barthels (Shon Parkins), Jenna Urick (Ryan Lusk), Kari Feehan (Dave) and Levi Barthels (Lauren Mathos); her great grandchildren, Lillee, Richard, Isabella, Declan, Jax, Luke, Alex, Gwynnevere, Louis and Thomasin; and her sibling's children, Ken Forsythe (Keith) and Diane Mitchell. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
