He was predeceased by: his parent Andrea Birch; his son-in-law Leo Capouellez; and his siblings, Earl Snow, Ruth Denault and Alice Hulsey.
He is survived by: his wife Olive H. Neilson; his children, Roy Alexander Birch of Florida, Robert C. Birch, Jr. (Tammy) of Prince George, VA, Rhonda Eileen Capouellez (Birch) of Gallitzin and Susan Lee Wright (Brett) of South Charleston, WV; and his siblings, Joyce Massetti of New Hampshire and Don Snow. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
