She was predeceased by: her parents, Max A. Walker, Sr. and Alverda Walker (Madden); her son James "Jimmy" Chesnut, Jr.; and her siblings, Evadene McMullen, Max Walker, Jr. and Mary.

She is survived by: her husband James Chesnut, Sr.; her children, Cathy Sheeder (John) and Robert Chesnut (Vickie); her grandchildren, Jeremy Cromer (Jess), Jessica Genthner (Jason), Eric Cromer (Kayla), Andrew Chesnut (Amanda) and Daniel Chesnut (Bridget); her great grandchildren, Maisie Genthner, Blakely Cromer, Coulson Cromer, James Chesnut, Jacob Chesnut, Luke Chesnut and Grace Chesnut; and her siblings, Maxine Whitsel and Gerald Walker.
