We announce the death of Delores Purnell (Hustontown, Pennsylvania), who passed away on July 23, 2026, at the age of 89. Delores will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Delores will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Delores will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Delores’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ned Knepper and Elenora Knepper (Strait); her husband James Franklin Purnell; and her sister Nancy. She is survived by: her children, Diana Jones Cosey (Ray) of Chambersburg, PA, Richard Purnell (Lori Jo) of Waterfall, PA, Lisa Noll (David) of St Thomas, PA, Michael Purnell (Drema) of Wells Tannery, PA, Glenda Akers (Gregory) of Everett, PA and Becky Dennis of York, PA; and her brother Ellis of Waterfall, PA.. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
