She was predeceased by: her parents, Irvin Leydig and Wilda Leydig; her son Eric Merkel; her brothers, Newton Huffman and Edgar "Bus" Leydig; her brother-in-law Kenneth Merkel; her nephew Roger Clarr; her brother-in-law Terry Merkel; and her husband Darris G. Merkel.
She is survived by: her sons, David (Adele), James (Wendy) and Todd (Terri); her lifelong love Butch; and her pet Buddy Boy. She is also survived by 3 sisters, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Glad Tidings Church.
