He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert D. Smith and Thelma Smith (Phipps); his wife Nina Smith (Taylor); his children, Charles David Smith and Judy D. Smith; his granddaughter Lacey Notestine; and his brothers, William Keifman and William Charles Frederick.
He is survived by: his children, Trudy (Vaughn Lynn) of Hopewell, Franklin David Smith Jr. (Tina Smith) of Saxton, Annette Jean Nenninger-Smith (David Brown) of Manns Choice, Brenda Wallace of Bedford and Craig Brian Smith (Val); his sister Mary Hollinger of Hopewell; William and Lillian Phipps (Coy). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
