He was predeceased by: his parents, George Boettner and Catherine Boettner (Kochis); and his grandson Nicodemus. He is survived by: his wife Denise Boettner (Boyd); his children, Julia Boettner and George Boettner (Sarah); and his siblings, Mark Boettner, David Boettner (Lynn) and Rita Boettner. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
