He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Thompson (McKinney) and Berl Thompson; his children, Todd Jerome Thompson and Tamara Piper; his stepdaughter Felicia Riley; his stepgrandchildren, Kate, Michael and Julia Riley; his stepson Frank Robinson; and his sister Elaine Osuna.
He is survived by: his children, Sara Kaufman (Tony) and David Thompson Jr. (Mallory); his grandchildren, Christiana Fernandez (Noah), Samantha Laskoski (Peter), Madison, Cassandra, Jessica Kaufman, Noah (Autumn), Gabriel, Bella, Sophia, Penelope, River and Kai Thompson; and his great grandchildren, Cameron and Jason. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
