He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Ickes (Gregory) and Luther Blair Ickes of Jeannette, PA.; and his sister Myrna McCloskey (Dave). He is survived by: his wife Donna Marie (Stefanides); his sister JoAnne Priola (late Mike); his children, Virginia Pyster (Art), Luther Ickes Jr. (Janessa), Holly Milbower (Andrew) and Renee Ickes; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Pyster, Nicole Desai (Tarun), Matthew Pyster, Maia Stern, Luca Milbower and Maeve Milbower; and his great grandchild Mia Desai. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the John V. Graziano Funeral Home, Inc. (228 S 2nd St, Jeannette, PA 15644). Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, the American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society. The family has chosen to send donations to American Heart AssociationDonate Now (https://www.heart.org).
