He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert B. Muir and Leah Black Muir; and his siblings, Beverly Knecht, Evelyn Kushnerick and Clinton Muir.
He is survived by: his sisters, Lois Johnson (Barry), Mary Doherty (William) and Barbara Horvick (Norman); and his children, Holly Watts, Michele Muir, Clark Summit and Bonnie Muir. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
