He is survived by : his wife Marie Katz (Heydt); his daughter April Amisson of Forked River; his stepdaughter Jenny Armstrong (Roger) of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; his son David Katz (Sarah) of Temple, Texas.; his sisters, Hilary Katz of Brentwood and Elyssa Torres of Oak City; and his nephew Samuel Heydt.

Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Republican Party because he was a very Political man.

James Mclaughlin wrote a sympathy message

“Rest in peace, my friend, I was very blessed to have someone like you in my life, you will be truly missed, I hope the Lord welcome you with open arms, you were very great man and a very good friend. We will always love you and miss you, Jim Mclaughlin, and family. And Maria, we are very sorry for your loss and also to the rest of Alan‘s family. We did not know very well.
