He was predeceased by: his parents, Patsy Cherry and Theresa Steinbach Cherry; his wife Joyce E. Nortum; and his son Joseph A. Cherry, Jr.. He is survived by: his sons, Stephen Cherry (Rhonda) of Wilcox and Frank Cherry (Luann) of Wilcox; and his siblings, Theresa Cherry (David Wolfe) of Johnsonburg, Francis "Francie" Cherry (Glenda) of Johnsonburg and Raymond "Ray" Cherry (Gayle) of Johnsonburg. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
