He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Dzendzel and Anna Dzendzel (Kovalchik); his parents-in-law, Mary and Joseph Bernas; his brother Michael Dzendzel; and his brothers-in-law, Frank Amistadi and Richard Kostkas.

He is survived by: his wife Helen Dzendzel (Bernas); his sisters, Eleanor "Sis" Amistadi and Mary Ann Kostkas; and his sister-in-law Rosalie Dzendzel. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
