He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Berringer and Dorothy Berringer (Wargo). He is survived by: his wife Susan C. (Musselman); his stepdaughters, Melissa (Gavin Markovich) and Mindy Lear; his grandchildren, Dillen, Maegen Steiner, Izabella and Izaya Lear; his stepgrandchildren, Macray and Parker Markovich; and his sister Brenda Rager.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Stroke Association.
