He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack E. Friedel and Kathryn Friedel (Sievers). He is survived by: his wife Kathleen A. Friedel (Kirkpatrick); his children, Diana L. Zaman (Robert), Lorrie A. Smith (Jeff), Rebecca A. Shifrel (David) of Margate, FL, Melissa M. Barone (Vince) of Oakdale, PA and Edward J.; his grandchildren, Stephanie (Frank), Jennifer Zaman, Brianna Shifrel of Margate, FL, Ashley Smith of Largo, FL, Nathan Shifrel of Orlando, FL, Carl Smith, Casey Shifrel of Fort Myers, FL, Sarah Shifrel of Margate, FL and Rheece Baron of Oakdale, PA; his great grandchildren, Alexa Hawkins, Kirsten Kyle and Logan Hawkins; and his sister Doris Caddy (Wilbert). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
