He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest L. Oaks and Magdalene Oaks (Hettle); his wife Virginia (Yoder); his siblings, Shirley Bennett (Earl), Connie Oaks and Eugene Oaks (Vevette); and his daughter-in-law Roxann Oaks.
He is survived by: his sister Nancy Woodward; his sons, Ernest L., III and Larry J. Oaks; and his grandchildren, Stephanie Hendrickson (Brian), Tina Burke, Magdeline Huffman (Eric), Larry Oaks, Jr. (Jessica), Ernest Oaks, IV (Jessica) and Amanda Oaks. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-8 PM at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd. In memory of Ernest Oaks, those who wish may make contributions to the Association for the Blind, 211 Central Ave., Johnstown, PA 15901.
