He was predeceased by: his sister Sandra; his grandparents, Henry, Elizabeth Reed, Edward and Anna Gartrell; his aunt Ruth; and his uncle Joe Laco.
He is survived by: his parents, George R. Gartrell of Johnstown and Shirley A. Gartrell (Reed) of Johnstown; his nephew Ryan Gartrell (Shelby) of Pittsburgh; his brother-in-law John Pudliner; his nephews, John III of Pittsburgh and Wesley Pudliner of Pittsburgh; his great-nephews, Reed and Logan Gartrell; and his cousin Jeff Laco. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
