It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James A. McCowan of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 29, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James G. McCowan and Veronica McCowan (Prebehalla). He is survived by: his daughter Mariann McCowan (Melody Madigan); his pets, Remi and Ruger; his brother-in-law Victor Moschgat; his cousins, Richard and Roberta Janciga; his niece Judy Bloom (family: Brian, Blaise); his sister Maxine Mikula; and his wife Carolyn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Avenue, Windber, PA 15963, who made his final days full of love, peace, and comfort.
