We are sad to announce that on April 10, 2024, at the age of 96, Kathryn Gorczycki of Johnstown, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, John Makar and Mary Makar (Corda); her husband Henry S. Gorczycki; and her sisters, Sophie Forish, Ann Makar and Helen Graham.

She is survived by : her children, Rosemarie, Christopher Gorczycki (Arlene), Louise Martin (Robert), Joan Polantz (Joseph), Kathy Caper (Walter), Henry J. Gorczycki and Janette Mellett (James); her grandchildren, Alicia Forte, Jonathan Martin (Lea McCauley), Katelyn Polantz (Jared Soares), Andrew Martin (Marlena Weiss) and Kathryn Mellett; her great grandchildren, Ryan Forte and Beatrix; her nieces, Jeannie Cooper, Marilyn Yeager, Rose Karmanocky, DeeDee, Nancy Chirillo, Dory Sellers and Sue Salem Gaeta; and her friend Bernie Karmanocky. She is also survived by nephews, and wonderful friends.

A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the St. Therese Catholic Church (536 Decker Ave, Johnstown, PA 15906).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

Even though she had seven children of her own at home, I was always welcome there, and remember spending some overnights with her family. Recently, I was fortunate enough to visit with her.
