He was predeceased by: his parents, George E. Straw and Gertrude Straw (Cameron); his wife Margaret Elizabeth "Betty" (Lloyd); and his brothers, George "Ed" Straw, Wayne "Dorsey" Straw, Jack Howard Straw and Leslie Straw.
He is survived by: his children, William "Bill" Straw, Margaret "Peg" (Cass), Linda Lee Blick (Randy), Catherine Jean Seymour (Paul), Karen Marie Straw and Richard Dwight "Rick" Straw. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
