He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Grata and Cleda Grata (Strayer); his son Richard Grata; his son-in-law Dennie Deyarmin; and his siblings, Evelyn Machik, Edward Grata Jr. and Raymond Grata.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Grata (Stutzman); his daughter Brenda Deyarmin; his daughter-in-law Ronda Grata; his granddaughters, Erika Young (Luke) and Natalie Grata; and his great grandchildren, Leo and Nora Young.
