We announce the death of Mary Jo Murgas in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 29, 2026, at the age of 86. Mary Jo will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Mundok and Margaret (Scott); her son Stephen Murgas III; her grandson Brendan Cleary; and her sister-in-law Rita Mudok.
She is survived by: her husband Stephen; her daughters, Stephanie (Kevin Cleary) of Richmond, VA, Victoria Murgas of Johnstown and Jacqueline (Bill Borman) of Langhorne, PA; her grandchildren, Kaitlin, Meghan Cleary, Camryn and Addison Borman; and her siblings, Janet Pribish (David), Peggy Cavanaugh (Joseph), Theresa Tyler (Richard) and Lawrence Mundok. She is also survived by nephews, her brothers and sisters in law, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Cambria County Library (Attn: Library Director, 248 Main Street, Johnstown, PA 15901) in memory of Mary Jo Murgas.
