It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Meriam Edith Shomo (Johnstown, Pennsylvania), born in Boswell, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 24, 2023, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Josiah Horner and Bertha Horner (Friedline); her husband Hubert Shomo; her great grandchild Katie Whysong; her siblings, Ethel Hill, Martha Thornton, Ada Westermann, Owen, Ernest, Franklin and Kenneth Horner; and her close friend Dorothy Kepple.
She is survived by : her children, Roger Shomo (Donna), Raymond Shomo (late Sonya) and Janet Whysong (Harry); her grandchildren, Kathy Ulmer (Michael), Melissa Jones (Craig), Gregory Shomo (Lybia), Jeffrey Shomo (Rosanne), Gretchen Shomo, Kimberly Whysong, Matthew Shomo (Jyllian), Todd Whysong (Alisa), Shannon Shomo and Jared Shomo (Chris); her great grandchildren, Kyle (Bethany), Kristi (Brian), Jared (Brittany), Chelsea, Madison, Camryn, Andre, Raiden, Shayla, Daniel, Adam, Emma and Ava; and her great great grandchildren, Kayla, Kyle Jr., Adeline, Tessa, Grady, Parker, Barrett, Coleston and Delaney. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
