He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H. Hayes and Thelma Hayes (Wirick); his wife Denise L. Hayes (Weaver); his brother Robert "Bob" Hayes; his sister-in-law Dennice; and his nephew Bobby Hayes.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Emily R. (Jeff Held Jr.); his great grandchild Jeffrey Held III; and his daughter Susan (Jeff Penrod).
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Scalp Level Covenant Church of the Brethren (270 Hoffman Ave, Windber, PA 15963).
Family suggests donations to Scalp Level Covenant Church of the Brethren, or New Day, Inc. in memory of Jim.
