He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Gates and Cynthia "Cindy" Gates; his wife Margaret Gates; and his brother Warren "Pudge" Gates. He is survived by: his daughter Amy Jo Gates; his brother Richard "Dick" Gates; and his grandchildren, Destiny Kasempiriyakorn (Kantapat) and Christopher Norman. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and loving grandchildren.
