Vivian Mae Slachta Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vivian Mae Slachta of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 9, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Vivian is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Vivian's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Merritts and Philomena Merritts (Cowan); and her husband Nicholas Slachta. She is survived by: her brother Robert Merritts (Helene). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the F. G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. (710 Broad St, Johnstown, PA 15906). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 7:00 PM and on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the Saviour Cathedral in memory of Vivian Slachta.
