He was predeceased by: his parents, David Pond and Beulah Pond (Shatney); and his siblings, Lila Viger and William Pond. He is survived by: his wife Norma R. Pond (Bennett); his sons, Ransey R. Hill (Thomas Weeks) of Campton, NH and Jeffrey A. (Darla Pond) of Fredericksburg, VA; his grandchildren, Hannah R., Abigail R., Sarah C., Sadie E., Ivana C., Elijah D. and Levi U.; his great grandchild Mavis E.; and his siblings, Aline (Arthur Pond) of Myerstown and Roger (Dixie Pond) of Carlisle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.

“Uncle, I can’t pretend to know why God chose you now, but I along with the rest of the family know that you are no longer in pain and you are up there with our dear Lord. Very likely you are up there putting angels in formation. All I know is you left a hole in so many hearts including mine.
