He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay I. Schlegel and Zora Schlegel (Stewart); and his siblings, Mary Jane Robinson, Zora Schlegel Brandt, Nancy Wetzel, Genevieve Pannier, Beverly Burdette, Myra Burlew, Gloria Oliver, Irvin, Jay, Gary, James, Warren and William Schlegel.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra (Adams); his children, Christopher Schlegel (Laurie) of Omaha, Jeffrey Schlegel (Pamela) of Mechanicsburg and Susan Schlegel of Julian; and his grandchildren, Makaela Moran-Schlegel, Tyson Moran-Schlegel and Collin Schlegel.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Centre County Memorial Park State Collegestate College (1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801).
