James E Bruss Obituary

James E. "Jim" Bruss, Jr., 80, of Julian, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024, at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on May 10, 1944, he was the son of the late James E. Bruss, Sr and Esther (Smith) Bruss. On May 4, 1964, he married the love of his life, Stella M. Bennett. Stella survives at home.

Jim was a 1962 graduate of State College High School. He was a member of the Runville United Methodist Church. He worked various jobs over the years.

Jim loved camping and being outdoors. His true hobby was working on vehicles. There wasn't one he couldn't fix. He was very sociable and made friends easily.

Jim is survived by his wife, three children: Timothy A Bruss and his wife, Phyllis, of Julian, Mark W. Bruss of Bellefonte, and Michele L. Benner and her husband, Jerry, of Julian. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

There will be a public visitation on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 11am – 12noon followed by the funeral service with Pastor Doug Mellott officiating at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 201 Spring St. Milesburg. The burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park in State College, PA.
