He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Sprester and Wilma Sprester (Hixenbaugh); and his brother Allan Sprester. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Digel; his children, Brenda Sprester of Washington, DC, Cassie, Angela Sprester, Charles Aarthur Sprester Jr. and Nathan Sprester of Mt. Jewett; his grandsons, Richard and Dylan Sprester; his sisters, Sandra Weston and Marsha Blair of Mt. Jewett; and his niece Debora Morlock. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
