He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Gerg and Anna Bauer Gerg; his siblings, Gerald "Buddy" Gerg, Jr., Jerome Gerg, Kathleen Sorge and Marie Cameroni; and his stepmother Anna Gamarion Gerg.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Prechtl Gerg; his daughter Debbie Anderson (Ken) of St. Marys; his grandchildren, Jason Anderson (Chaustin) of Pleasant Gap, PA, Renee Huber (Josh) of Volant, PA and Kristen Jones (Josh) of Weedville, PA; and his great grandchildren, Esme, Isla Anderson, Raelyn, Elyse, Everett Huber, Shayla and Olivia Jones. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Krise Funeral Home - Kersey (339 Main St, Kersey, PA 15846). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Boniface Cemetery (116 Taylor St, Kersey, PA 15846).
