He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schappert and Josephine Schappert (Halas); and his sister Barbara Pelchar. He is survived by: his wife Dauriz Schappert (Wilkie); his children, Joseph Schappert, Jr. (Sandra) of LaVergne, TN and Molly Schappert (Kingston); his grandchildren, Devin Schappert (Nicole) and Alexandra Sharp (Tanner); his great grandchildren, Benjamin Schappert and Ada Sharp; and his siblings, Richard Schappert (Marietta), Dolores Piechota and Joan Ritz. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
