He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Whitling and Freda Whitling (Etzel); his siblings, Rose Henry (Ed) and Ray Whitling (Donna); and his sister-in-law Lois Whitling (Sterrett).
He is survived by: his wife MaryAnn; his children, Gary Whitling (Susan) and Linda Reinertsen-Adams (Steve); his stepchildren, Jeff Lander (Betty), Julie Lander, Bonnie Schmader (Scott) and Mike Lander; his grandchildren, Christopher Whitling (Lindsey) of Monkton, Michael Whitling (Rachel) of Tyrone, Julie Vayda of San Francisco and Jamie Acain (Rick) of San Jose; his stepchildren, Andrea Lander and Tony Lander; and his great grandchildren, Marcus Whitling, Mackenzie Whitling, Sophia Raneri, Charlotte Whitling, Kai Acain and Orrin Acain. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (501 Main St, Shippenville, PA 16254).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be given to the Knox Lions Club or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Shippenville, Pa. in his memory.
