He was predeceased by: his wife Katie; his parents, Vern Tompkins and Elna Tompkins (Perry); his siblings, Perry, Earl, Verna, Clarence, Mary Ellen and Anna; his son-in-law David Brown; his stepson Tom Cornish; and his son-in-law Dana Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, William Tompkins (Tonya) and Peggy Brown; his grandchildren, Trevor Tompkins (Hallie), Arianna Armstrong (Kyle), Aaron Brown (Anyssa) and Anthony Brown (Paula); his siblings, Roy "Fred" Tompkins (Lyda) of Knoxville, Frances Dunn of Addison, NY and Sharon Heysham (Randy) of Elkland; his sister-in-law Judy Tompkins of Knoxville; his stepdaughters, Tina Wanat (Anthony), Tammy Johnson and Tonya Cornish; and his stepdaughter-in-law Cheryl Cornish. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
