He was predeceased by: his parents, Freddie Beer and Alberta Beer (George); his son Troy Franklin Beers; and his brother Herman Beer. He is survived by: his wife Sue Beers (Burger); his sons, Glenn Beers (Magdalen) of Kunkletown and Greg Beers (Gail) of Lehighton; his grandchildren, Ashley Beers (Kyle Martin) of Pittsburgh, Ross Beers of Lehighton, Garrett Beers (Ashley) of Palmerton and Samantha Boyington (Brandon) of Westminster, SC; his great grandchildren, Mabel Louise, Asa Hayes, Ellie Catherine, Cora Naomi, Henry James and Erica Paige; and his sister Diane Green of Lake Wallenpaupack. He is also survived by four nieces.
