He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Hernley and Ruth Miller Hernley; his siblings, Mary Hernley, Martha Keener, Emma Charles and P. Miller Hernley; and his son-in-law John Martin.
He is survived by: his children, Pat Martin, Bernie Hernley (Barb), Rosene Rohrer (David), Duane Hernley (Lucy) and Karen Hess; his grandchildren, Christina Martin (Eric Junga), Kenton Martin (Courtney), Ashley Hernley, Kara Hernley, Valerie Hernley, Dustin Rohrer (Lisa), Ben Hernley (Kelsey), Daniel Hernley and David Spayde; and his great grandchildren, Ila, Oakley, Beatrice Rohrer, Rheya, Elliana and Kira Mae Hernley.
