In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Ira had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Ira may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Herr and Emma Herr (Hess); his wife Mary Jean (Heistand); and his daughter Rhoda Martin. He is survived by: his children, Rachel H. (Mervin Frey) of Greencastle, PA, Ira C. Herr III (Cindy) of Lancaster, PA, Edward Herr of Bellevue and Nevin Herr of Bellevue, Idaho.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM and at 11:00 AM.
